  • 1944: Aspis Pronia founded.

  • 1945: Operations begin. Aspis Pronia issues the first life group coverage policy in Greece.
  • 1952: The company undertakes the first systematic post-war revival of life insurance.
  • 1957: Aspis Pronia insures the newly established Olympic Airways.
  • 1969: Aspis Pronia issues a policy that covered the first manned mission to land on the moon.
  • 1971: In a joint venture between Apsis Pronia and the Insurance Company of North America, Interamerican Life is founded.
  • 1973: Aspis Pronia is spun off from Interamerican.
  • 1979: Aspis Pronia and Occidental Life of California undertake a joint venture in the field of life insurance. The latter invests $7 million for business development.
  • 1980: Aspis Pronia establishes an EDP department utilizing state of the art IT systems.

    1998: Three companies of ASPIS Group are listed in the Athens Stock Exchange
  • 1986: Paul Psomiades becomes the majority shareholder in Aspis Pronia through an equity transfer agreement with A. Tampouras, who leaves the company.
  • 1990: The phased structuring of the Aspis Group is initiated with the founding of Aspis Zimion (Property and Casualty), Aspis Mutual Funds, Aspis Bank and Aspis Xrimatistiriaki (Stock Brokers). Aspis Pronia opens a branch in Cyprus.
  • 1994: The insurance company "Ilios" is acquired, Aspis Ependytiki (Investments) is established.
  • 1995: IPO of Aspis Pronia and Apsis Ependytiki (investments) on the Athens Stock Exchange.
  • 1996: The branch in Cyprus becomes a fully independent company.
  • 1997: The life insurance company "Laiki Zois" is acquired and merged with Aspis Pronia.
  • 1998: IPO of Aspis Bank on the Athens Stock Exchange. Aspis Pronia establishes a branch in Sweden.
  • 1999: Acquisitions of Gothaer Hellas, Nordstern Colonia Hellas, Nordstern Colonia Hellas Life and Commercial Union Life, closely followed by the Greek branch of Scoplife in the following year.
  • 2001: The insurance companies "D.Atheneos" and "United" are acquired. Founding of Aspis Estia (Construction).

    2004: Logo designed to celebrate the anniversary of the 60 years of Aspis Pronia (1944-2004).
  • 2002: Aspis Bank acquires the retail branch network of ABN Amro in Greece. Aspis Ependytiki (Investments) is merged with Aspis Pronia. Six insurance companies within the group are merged into one, under the name "Commercial Value". Aspis Leasing is founded. Aspis Pronia establishes a branch in Germany operating on a FPS basis.
  • 2003: Aspis Credit and Aspis Real Estate are founded. Aspis Bank acquires the retail branch network of Grindlays Bank in Greece.
  • 2004: Aspis MFM S.A. and ABN Amro MFM S.A. (mutual fund management) are merged into one company under the name of Aspis International MFM S.A. The branch of Aspis Pronia in Sweden becomes a fully independent life insurance company, also issuing policies in Norway. Aspis Pronia celebrates 60 years of operations and becomes one the longest standing insurance companies in Greece.
